About a couple of years ago, Google launched the Nexus 5. The smartphone was developed by LG and it is still the record-holder for being the bestselling Nexus device in history. With such a reputation, there is no doubt that the Nexus 5 is going to get updated to the Android M soon.
Tentatively known as the Android Marshmallow, the update is now rumoured to come out somewhere in October this year. The word is that the updating of the Nexus 5 will be handled by LG and it will be rolled out together with the next-gen Nexus 5.
If so, then it is not surprising at all. This is because LG is really popular for rolling out firmware updates quickly and efficiently. There is no doubt that the old Nexus 5 will be among the first to receive the Android Marshmallow.
As exciting as the above sounds, they are still based on rumours and it is best to take it with a pinch of salt. We can expect to hear more about this from LG soon.
