Moto X Android 5.1 Update Cancelled, Here’s Why

It seems that the update to Android 5.1 Lollipop for the Moto X first gen for AT&T has been cancelled.

At one time of the day Motorola used to make sure that their devices got updated even before the Nexus handsets of Google, now it seems that owners of the Moto X are lucky if they get the update a whole year after the Nexus owners.

It was said that the reason behind the Moto X first gen not getting updated to Android 5.1 Lollipop is due to the fact that Motorola doesn’t have enough funds to get the update certified. This is perhaps one of the reasons why there are so many sales of products of Motorola at the moment. Some have said that Lenovo is at fault for Motorola not having the funds and the information was said to have come from an engineer working at Motorola.

Another reason why the Android 5.1 Lollipop update might have been cancelled could be due to the fact that there is issues with the quality for it on the Moto X first gen. It seems that some owners of the device on other carriers have the update and they have complained about the phone being slow after having updated.

So do you have the Moto X first gen and do you have Android 5.1 Lollipop?
