Mass Effect 4: Taking Bethesda Back To School

Bioware has made it known that Mass Effect 4 is currently in its final stages of production and it will be making its debut very soon from now. The upcoming title is going to be more interactive than before and fans can’t wait to see what the game has got to offer.

Well, Bethesda should also look forward to Mass Effect 4 as it can give them some inspiration on their future title, Fallout 4. After all, there are growing worries that Bethesda is out of ideas for Fallout 4 and the sequel won’t be as great as Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

This is something Mass Effect 4 is able to help as it has tons of features to boast about. If Bethesda is to pick up one feature from Mass Effect 4, it will have to be with the companionship mechanism.

Throughout the Fallout series, companions have zero influence in the game and do not engage in a close relationship with the players. Instead, they only follow the players around and at most times, they get killed in action.

If Bethesda is to learn from Mass Effect 4, then companions should be treated similarly to the protagonist. They should be able to respawn upon death and also react to the decision making of the players.

Heck, players should also be able to get personal with their comrades and in some occasion, the players should have the ability to engage in an intimate relationship with their AI counterpart. Having such a system will surely boost Fallout 4’s gameplay experience and change the series for the better.

Of course, there are tons of other features that Bethesda can learn from Mass Effect 4. If the game developer does take inspirations from a rival title, there is no doubt that Fallout 4 will be extremely massive when released.
