In detail, 5,787 Sportage and 1432 Soul are suspected of having some faults with their seatbelt pre-tensioner. While this seems like something very serious, Kia has yet to get any reports of any injuries that have resulted from it.
The Korean car manufacturer revealed that they have been monitoring their customer’s vehicle and the issue might be present due to a spoiled piston.
It is also revealed that the Sportage Compact Crossover built between October 2011 to November 2012 and the Soul models from August 2011 to March 2012 from Korea are the only ones affected.
Owners who are encountering the issue will be notified by post and will have to get their car checked at the nearest service centre. Of course, the parts replacement will be free of charge. For further assurance, customers can call 0800 015 8757.
