Lotus Car Brand Making Its Way Out Of The US

Sports car manufacturer, Lotus, has been losing its market share gradually over the past decade. This is despite of the fact that it managed to show signs of revival after being bought over by Malaysian carmaker, Proton.

However, things don’t look so good for Lotus here in the America after the company was forced to let go many of its employees. Now, it gets to a point where the classy Evora has been axed from the US market.

While it may have nothing to do with Lotus’ financial status, the company failed to add in smart airbags into the latest Evora. This is a federal requirement which Lotus failed to meet and it cost them dearly.

As it stands, Lotus will only be selling the Elise and Exige in the US. With such a small line-up, Lotus doesn’t look like it is able to last long here in the world’s largest automotive market.
