Yesterday, Google announced the Android 4.4.3 KitKat which will be released next week via OTA. Well, this latest patch update is actually available today, for the Nexus 5 smartphone. Users of this device can now obtain the KitKat manually.
It has been a dramatic turn of events for the Nexus 5 users. Being a Google smartphone, the Nexus 5 should be the pioneers of the 4.4.3 KitKat. Instead, the Moto X, Moto G, Moto E and the Google Play Edition of Galaxy S4, HTC One and the One M8 got the update ahead of the Nexus 5.
As for those who got the Nexus 5 with a carrier, Sprint has confirmed that all 4.4.3 updates will be completed by June 9th. This version of KitKat will be coming with the Sprint Spark band 26 and band 41.
Perhaps, it is time to drop all the criticism and put on a happy face as the 4.4.3 update gets rolled out in phases. The only thing that Nexus 5 owners should look forward to is the KitKat OS.
