LG Nexus 4 Price Won’t Come Down For Upcoming Nexus 5

The rupee is having a negative effect over in India and this is down to the fact that devices are being sourced from abroad. The rupee is about 70 and so the advantage that it once had when getting handsets from abroad has gone.

The price tag did drop of the LG Nexus 4 dropped over in India and you are able to get the device for Rs 14,000, which is around $199. The LG Nexus 4 undercuts most of the tops end handsets. In the Google Play Store the price has come down by as much as $100. So you can get the 16GB version of the device for $249, this is about Rs 17,500.

There are many people who might not look at the Nexus as there are handsets out there with displays of 1080p. There are lots of good things about it though as it offers pure Jelly Bean and it comes with some great specs. The price tag simply cannot be matched for a device that is unlocked.

When the LG Nexus 4 came out last year in India the 16GB came in at Rs 25,000. Google do subsidise their handsets and get money back in the Google Play Store. The cost of the handset will not change though, but will it change on the grey market.

This is popular as handsets can be cheaper from the ones from abroad.

We asked out source, but they said there would not be a price drop. Retailers do know that the cost of the device has come down, however as the rupee is falling savings cannot be passed onto customers. The LG Nexus 4 costs Rs 23,500 in India and it has been the same price for a while. If you don’t have to get a handset in a rush you might want to wait.
