With Snapdragon announcing that their Snapdragon 835 is ready, you would think that all the new flagship this year would be running on the newer processor but it looks like LG will not be boarding that ship.
There were rumors saying that LG might stick to the older processor when it comes to their LG G6 but a new leak image was taken from a CES 2017 LG Presentation slide suggest that LG will be using the Snapdragon 821 processor instead.
While it seems odd that LG would choose to use an older processor for their flagship, it is believed that LG might have a valid reason for doing so. Since the chip is still pretty new, Samsung had to push their release date back to May or June just so they have enough to meet the demand of their customers. If LG were to decide to use the chip as well, we might have to wait a little longer for the device.
From LG’s perspective, the wait is just not worth it and that might be why the Snapdragon 821 was chosen. We don’t know how much of that would affect the decision of the consumers. What do you think? Would you get a flagship with a Snapdragon 821 knowing that there is a better option out there?
