As of right now, nobody actually believes that LG will be releasing a Marshmallow update for the LG G2 since the device is already a few years old. LG have never mentioned anything about the an Android Marshmallow being work on for the device.
However, fans hopes were renewed when somebody spotted the LG G2 getting benchmarked. The device was the Verizon LG G2 that was running on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
While this is far from a confirmation, the benchmark test does show that the device is actually still powerful enough to run the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It might not be able to run some of the new features but it will be powerful enough to support the system.
Even if LG does not release the update for their LG G2 users, we think that some custom ROM developers might take it upon themselves to create one since there is still a lot of LG G2 users out there.
