Most games today comes with a multiplayer online mode which makes full use of an internet server for players to play together with others from all around the world. With Kingdom Hearts 3 being the next major game to make a debut, should it pick up the multiplayer online trend?
For me, I don’t think it is going to work well since players in the Kingdom Hearts series are nurtured to train Sora and his companions equally. Having an extra head can mess things up and spoil the balance in Kingdom Hearts 3.
Perhaps, the ideal way to introduce such a feature would be through having separate missions designed specifically for multiplayer. There, players can get together and select any character in the game for them to control and play it like Marvel Ultimate Alliance. If so, then it may just work.
Then again, the best way to have multiplayer in Kingdom Hearts 3 is not through online but with a second player on the same gaming console. Then, Kingdom Hearts 3’s multiplayer mode can be made to be like a 3D version of the Metal Slug series. What do you think?
