Forbes quoted John Paczkowski: “Sources familiar with Apple plans tell Code/red that Tim Cook will not use WWDC to unveil Apple’s mythical wearable device.”
“Nor will he use it to show off a new Apple TV, or even preview the new software the company is developing for it.” Paczkowski added.
Stuart Miles from Pocket-lint noted: “Announcing an iWatch at the show, but then not launching it until September would allow the media, consumers, and naysayers to discuss, dissect, analyze, and be educated over a couple of months into why you would want a smartwatch and why you won’t be able to live without one.”
So if Apple is not going to reveal the iWatch at the WWDC, then perhaps they won’t release it at all this year. There has been pressure on Apple to launch a wearable device so that it would compete against Samsung and Google, however there are some people who think that Apple should steer clear and see how well wearable tech goes down with the public before stepping in.
Apple could time it right though and release the iWatch along with the iPhone 6. This could create a great deal of impact. It could also work if Apple are planning on making the iPhone larger.
By releasing two versions of the iPhone Apple could attack the different markets, which is similar to what Samsung does. If Apple offered premium handsets in different sections it could be very interesting to see how they compete against the Samsung devices.
