Microsoft Windows Mobile might not be as popular as both the Android and iOS but it sure nailed it after announcing the upcoming personal assistant, Cortana.
This lady-like digital assistant seen in the Halo gaming series is already popular prior to its release which will tempt gamers to use Windows Mobile.
Microsoft revealed that Cortana will be the SIRI-killer. After all, this future personal assistant will actually stick to the definition of personal. It can schedule appointments, set alarms, find hotels and restaurants.
Of course, all personal assistants can do that. Cortana actually goes the extra mile be sending contextual reminders by learning about the user. The next time a conversation is occurring between the user and his/her pal, Cortana will actually bring up past talking topics for the users to check on.
The AI built in Cortana is apparently more powerful than it sounds. It doesn’t have to be specific to know what the users want. Like asking for a restaurant, there won’t be a long list like how SIRI does it. Instead, it will name the best restaurant around. Following that query, users will then want to get directions. Without being specific, Cortana will give directions to that restaurant. It will turn out like talking to lifelike creature instead of a robot.
If there is one great thing about Microsoft Mobile OS, it is Cortana. Despite the OS not being as big as Android and iOS, Cortana is definitely a pulling factor. This personal assistant will look to debut in the next couple of months.
