The iMessage is one of the many great features on the iPhone but it is unfortunate to learn that the messenger service actually prevents messages to come in if the user is no longer on the iPhone.
For example, users who are now on the Android platform from using an iPhone with iMessage will encounter an issue where they don’t receive any messages from a friend using an iPhone. This is due to the fact that the messages are automatically sent to iMessage instead of the Android device.
The solution is simple. One will have to de-register from iMessage. If users still have their iPhone around, simply put the SIM card into the device, head to Settings, Select Messages and turn iMessage off. Doing it in that order will de-register the user from the messenger service.
The other method, for those that have disposed the iPhones, is through heading to Apple’s support website. Once at the iMessage portal, they will have to fill up a box with their phone number and enter a confirmation code sent to them. Click on submit and it should de-register them from iMessage.
