We have heard that the Apple iPhone 6 may not come out until September of this year. This could be to make way for the arrival of a phablet from Apple, which has been rumoured to be arriving in May this year.
A report from Yahoo Japan has suggested that a larger display iPhone could arrive in May and it will be the first of a new line from Apple. The iPhone 6 would then be launched in September.
The same reports said that the Apple phablet would not have the A8 SoC, but that it may arrive with the 64 bit A7 processor. At the moment details about the screen are unknown, other than it could be around 5.7 inches or even larger. This has been based on nothing but speculation of course.
A display of this size would suggest that Apple will try to storm the phablet market, of which Samsung have been the rulers with the Samsung Galaxy Note. Recently HTC got into the game with the HTC One Max.
This is not the first time that we have heard reports of Apple going into the phablet market. C Technology said that Foxconn insiders had said that Apple would launch two iPhones this year. One of the devices was said to have the display of 4.7 inches and the other could be 5.7 or bigger. NPD DisplaySearch also backed this up in November when they said that Apple could launch two different versions of the iPhone 6.
Apple as always are keeping quiet about matters, however the chief executive did tease fans when he said that Apple did have some big plans for this year.
Other rumours about the iPhone 6 include a sapphire glass coating on the display and flexible displays, an improved version of Siri and the addition of gesture controls.
