If you’re an iPhone 6 owner, you should be aware by now that the smartphone takes forever to charge. Before you start thinking that there is an issue with the latest Apple iPhone 6, we have to say that it is something normal.
This is due to the fact that the iPhone 6 arrived with a 1.2A 5W charger like the iPhone 5S, which is too small for the device. Obviously, the iPhone 6 needs a larger capacity battery to reduce the charging time.
Well, this is already available through the iPad charger which offers 2.1A 10W of electricity. Using this charger on the iPhone 6 will drastically reduce the charging period. Some might now wonder on why Apple didn’t offer the iPad charger as a default.
The answer to that is simply business. An Apple insider confirmed that the company knew about it all along but producing the iPad chargers are too costly for them. As such, Apple fixed the price of the iPhone 6 with the iPad chargers but instead offer the smaller charger like those on the iPhone 5S. Doing so will give them a bigger profit margin.
It is also important to note that it is only the iPhone 6 that is capable of charging on the iPad chargers. The iPhone 5S is not compatible and doing so won’t improve the charging time at all. After all, the latter maxes out at 1A which means that even if users use a 10A charger, the phone will only eat up 1A of electrical energy.
