Smartphone buyers are intrigued by the thought of a phone that offers a curved display but it’s not likely that we will see Apple release an iPhone 6 with such a display. Instead people could have to make do with a recent concept that shows just what the iPhone 6 could look like if it had a curved display.
A concept of the iPhone 6 shows off the curved display and it also brings together other rumours that have been going around about the possible design of the iPhone 6. The concept shows us an iPhone 6 that looks like a cross between the iPhone 5S and the LG G Flex, which has been said to be arriving in the US this year.
The LG G Flex is said to be the first handset to offer a flexible display. However Apple could have been working on the iPhone prototypes to include a flexible display. We have heard that Apple put in a patent for an iPhone with a curved display, plus screen that wraps around.
The iPhone 6 concept comes from Lewi Hussey complete with a curve of 7 degrees. Just like the iPhone 5S, the concept has been designed in gold and white. However it has a design that looks like metal from the iPhone 5S, this would rule out the LG G Flex bending feature which has the ability to go flat and then go back to the curved resting position.
The concept version of the iPhone 6 shows off a curved 6 inch OLED display and comes in at just 5mm thick.
While the concept is going to be a million miles from the handset that Apple may eventually release this year, in concept it is interesting and it could work well.
