Apple and Samsung have a bitter relationship full of thorns. Much of their productions have gone head to head with each other. Both gadget giants from different parts of the world has been trying to better off each other. Today we put the iPhone 5S to the test against Samsung’s Galaxy S4.
While the S4 has been released earlier this year, will it still be able to compete with the new iPhone? To begin with, let us take a look into the device’s built quality. The iPhone 5s has that premium feel with its metal finish while Samsung is still stuck on its polycarbonate material for the Galaxy S4. However, the curves on the Galaxy S4 make the device much comfortable to hold. In spite of that, it is still not good enough when the feel of the phone comes into play.
With the materials aside, let see how the phones catch the eye. The display on the iPhone 5s is similar to the iPhone 5. It uses the retina display. The S4 on the other hand runs on a super Amoled 1920×1080 441ppi displayon its 5” screen which overpowers the iPhone 5s.
Where speed is concerned, both devices can handle the heaviest of task. Apple’s iPhone 5s is equipped with the brand new A7 64-bit processor whereas Samsung’s S4 has a 1.9GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 on its UK specs.
Finally we look at the power management and supply for these devices. The method used is to run a loop of videos until the battery dies. Both devices will have auto brightness switched on to avoid any bias accusations. The iPhone 5s did ever so well by lasting longer despite having a smaller battery capacity compared to the S4’s 2600 mAh capacity.
Both devices are able to match each other’s strength and weakness that it is difficult to segregate the winner from the loser. We have to give it to the iPhone 5s for being one foot ahead of the Samsung. For a phone that is released earlier, the S4 competes really well and still proves to be worthy.
