iOS Facebook Bug Fix Fails To Boot Up

The stability on the Facebook app for iOS didn’t last long. After about six months of stability on the app, the Facebook mobile for iOS app is now facing major issues. Users found themselves caught in a crash loop and there those who are unable to update the app.

This problem started when the version 6.7 of the Facebook mobile app for iOS was released last Thursday. The update was supposed to bring additional language pack and new icons which enables users to express their feelings and activities better. Another improvement the 6.7 update brought is the ability to edit posts and view history of the amendments on iPad.

However, the update caused crash loop to a significant number of users. The 6.7 update then followed with the version 6.7.1 update. The version 6.7.1 change log shows nothing more than just “bug fix”. However, the 6.7.1 update only causes more issues. It seems like this problem had become a trend with the Facebook app updates. Each major update will bring together with it issues and this will be followed with another update to fix the issues. Considering Facebook is a company this big and the resources the company has, it is quite surprising that this problem happens on a regular basis with their update.

Users had also been reporting that the Facebook app on iOS could not be downloaded from the Apple store. Users who tried to resolve the problem by uninstalling and later on re-installing the Facebook app ended up with a message saying that the app is not available for download. Even if they were able to download it, it would only download the app up until version 6.7, without the 6.7.1 update. Sometimes the app didn’t install. But this looks like the problem is not caused by Facebook but might be rooted on Apple’s end instead.

However, many had reported that the problem had been solved since Monday. Are you still having problem with you Facebook mobile for iOS?
