iOS 8 Untethered Jailbreak As iOS 7.1.1 Probably A Lost Cause

It’s not so long ago that Evad3rs released the iOS 7 jailbreak, but iDevice owners are already asking for an untethered solution. They’ll be in for a long wait, though, as we don’t expect there to be an iOS 7.1 solution for the iPhones 5, 5S and 4S any time in the near future.

Hackers have said that they’ve moved their focus from iOS 7.1 and that they’ll be looking at iOS 8 when it emerges.

This new OS should come out later this year, alongside the iPhone 6, probably during the WWDC. This is, of course, if Apple follows its usual release schedule.

The iOS 7.1 jailbreak for earlier iPhones was made by Winocm, and he uploaded a vid a few weeks back to show this untethered jailbreak working on iOS 7.1 on an iPhone 4, a fourth-gen iPod Touch and a first-gen iPad.

The newer iPhones, however, are a different matter as Apple has hugely increased the security in the processors.
