Last week, Apple took the world by storm as they released the brand new iPhone 6, 6 Plus and the highly anticipated iOS 8. The latter might be a small-time upgrade from the iOS 7 but it comes with plenty of exciting features that many are not aware of. Here are 5 of them:
1. Battery Management
Little do iOS 8 users know that they can now identify which app is a battery drainer. Users can simply go to General>Battery Usage to view a list of apps that has been used for the past 24 hours and see how much power they have been utilizing.
2. No Google
It is safe to assume that 99.9% of internet users rely on Google to do their searching. Google has long been a rival to Apple. As such, the iOS 8 comes with options to search with Bing, Yahoo and even DuckDuckGo to minimize relying on Google.
3. Find My iPhone
While this may not sound new for the iOS 8 users, the service can now run even when the iPhone is switched off. Of course, users have to go to Settings > iCloud > find my iPhone/iPad > Send Last Location to make it work.
4. No Stock Keyboard
The iOS 8 finally open the doors to applying a third party keyboard on the iPhone. Apps like Swype and Swiftkey can now be used by going to Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards > Add New Keyboard after downloading them.
5. Selfie!
Apple has jumped into the selfie trend as they now add a timer for the front facing camera. No longer will a selfie be blurry with the 3s and 10s timer options.
