iOS 7.1 Update Takes Potshot At Evasi0n Untethered Jailbreak Creators

An enemy to your enemy is a friend. This is the perfect quote for the relationship between Apple and its nemesis, Evad3rs. No matter how much the tech giant hates this team of hackers, they hate the bugs and glitches that affect their devices even more.

It came to the surprise of many when Apple went public to specifically thank Evad3rs. This is after the team that brought the jailbreaks revealed the security issues with the iOS 7. Such a discovery was heard by Apple which resulted in the development of iOS 7.1.

This is part of the company’s policy to credit the security researcher who discovers vulnerabilities in its product. Despite being enemies, the company keep holds of its word to publicly thank Evad3rs. Of course, there isn’t any financial reward in place.

The security issues that got fixed are with Backup, the Certificate Trust Policy, Configuration Profiles, CoreCapture, Crash Reporting, dyld, FaceTime, ImageIO, IOKit HID Event, iTunes Store, Kernel, Office Viewer, Photos Backend, Profiles, Safari, Settings, SpringBoard, SpringBoard Lock Screen, the TelephonyUI Framework, USB Host, Video Driver, and WebKit.

More importantly, these fixes will make jailbreaking much harder for Evad3rs. Jailbreak users can only hope for something magical to happen or they will have to settle with the iOS 7.0.6.
