Hyundai Sonata Has One More Horse Than Dodge Charger!

The annual SEMA show will be returning this November in Las Vegas and it will set up the stage for many new concept vehicles. Among them is the Hyundai Sonata and there is a lot of anticipation for the Korean sedan.

It was recently announced that the Sonata is now under the custody of Bisimoto Engineering. The latter, like AMG and GTi, plans to create a super car out of the Sonata. In short, the company is aiming to offer 708hp to the sedan.

Bisimoto also revealed that they will be using the 2.4L Inline-4 and modify it with a combination of strengthened internal component to achieve the horsepower target. One of the parts added onto the Sonata is a high-boost turbocharger, and a fast-burning, flex-fuel diet, and a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Surprisingly, the Sonata will be running on the same FWD architecture. Bisimoto added that outrageous power would mean nothing if reliability is not present. In total, 18 different prototypes will be produced and they will all come with 708hp.

If this is to be accomplished, then the Sonata will surely be the fastest Korean vehicle in history. In fact, it will be 1hp faster than the likes of Dodge Charger. We can’t wait to see the final product coming in Las Vegas this November.
