The new Hyundai Elantra recall might not be the most serious recall we have heard of but it is not any less important. Hyundai will be issuing a recall after it was discovered that the brake pedal stopper on the Hyundai Elantra might be prone to deterioration.
So what’s so important about the brake pedal stopper? Well, it helps turn off the brake lights when you lift your feet off the brake but that is not all. Since it detects whether or not the brake on being applied, it might think that the brake is depressed when it is not and allow the transmission to shift out of Park.
The recall will affect the 2013 Hyundai Elantra that was made from the 1st of December 2012 until the 30th of April 2013. A total of 64,500 Hyundai Elantra will be affected by the recall. Those affected will come in to get their a better stopper pad installed.
