Huawei Nexus 6: What’s The Story?

We keep hearing reports that the upcoming Nexus handset is going to be the Huawei Nexus 6. It seems that Google have chosen the phone maker over the likes of LG.

Back in May it was said that Huawei were working on the Google Nexus phone and then rumours started going around that there could be two 2015 Nexus devices launched. It was said that LG could be behind the standard version and a phablet sized version from Huawei. It is said that the company are hoping to boost their brand name in China.

Of course the Google Maps, PlayStore and Gmail are banned in China but Huawei could help Google to get different apps from the PlayStore that are available in China. We also heard that it may be possible that we will see a smartwatch too.

If Huawei were behind the Nexus 6 it would be their first attempt at making a big impact in the US. This is something that the company have wanted to do for some time now. The Nexus 6 could help to put the brand name centre stage in the US in 2015 and 2016, while the handset is at its most popular.

The Huawei Nexus 6 is said to have the codename of Angler and it is suggested that it will be a phablet of around 5.7 inches. It will have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and a battery of 3,500mAh.

We also heard that there is an LG Nexus with the codename of Bullethead and this was said to offer the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 or the 808 processor along with 3GB of RAM and storage options of 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. There was also talk of a USB Type C port and the addition of a fingerprint scanner.
