The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is a great device from the past. It is about 2-years-old now and Samsung has already ceased every update for this old phablet. Despite that fact, Note 2 users can still update the Note 2 to the latest Android KitKat OS.
The Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware with the build number N7105XXUFND3 has been developed specifically for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 GT-N7105 version only. If you’re still using the device and wish to give it the update of a lifetime, then follow the instructions below.
1. Download and unzip Odin3-v1.85 and CF-Auto-Root.
2. Back up all the data on your phone and make sure there is a minimum of 80% battery left.
3. Enable USB Debugging. Now start Odin on your phone and click the PDA button and select the CF-Auto-Root tar.md5 file you extracted in step one.
4. Simultaneously press and hold the Volume Down, Home and Power buttons to enter recovery mode.
5. Connect your device to the computer via USB. In Odin, make sure Repartition is not checked then click the Start button. There should be a pass message with a green background appearing.
6. Disconnect the Note 2 and confirm that you have already rooted your phone.
7. Now, you have to find the perfect custom ROM for the Galaxy Note 2. Try the Ditto Note 3 ROM for a start.
8. The Note 2 should restart and boot in the Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS. Enjoy!
