There are a lot of signs pinpointing to this year for Valve to announce on Half Life 3 and many fans were expecting it to happen at the recent GDC event. Well, that didn’t happen at all and we were not surprised by it.
This is because GDC is not a big enough event to house a massive title like Half Life 3. Besides, GDC is a tech exhibition and it is very rare to see games getting announced at the event.
Valve did participate at GDC but they used their time at the event to discuss more on their VR headset project as well as Steam. Valve didn’t mention any games at all.
The bright side to this is that Valve has spilled every possible bean regarding their tech development progress. This means that it will be a long while before Valve returns to give another update on the matter. Hence, we can expect the company to focus on announcing Half Life 3 in the near future.
