GTA 5 has been released for so long on both the Xbox 360 and PS3 that the PC users are on the binge of giving up waiting for their version to arrive. While we all know that the PC version is always last to receive a GTA title, it is a mystery on what is taking Rockstar so long to launch it.
There are many factors to consider before Rockstar can release a PC version for GTA 5. Looking at the predecessors, the PC GTA titles enable players to mod it to their liking. This could have caused a delay as Rockstar needs to think of something that can block off the mod in order to salvage a clean online gameplay.
One great example is that hilarious Youtube video which depicts a modded GTA San Andreas. It shows a player flying on a Hydra jet which has that enlarged CJ appearance (see below). In addition to that, the player is attempting to fly to the moon with some whacky music playing on the background.
Such a video must have given Rockstar the headache, wondering how to create a PC version for GTA 5 that won’t be open to more severe hacks that could upset other gamers who want to keep it fair and square. Even the consoles have experienced its fair share of hacks which sees millions and billions of GTA dollars being spread around the community. On a PC, an uglier scenario is highly anticipated.
There can be two paths that Rockstar can follow. Either discard GTA Online or secure the game in a way it’s not hack-able. Until it is decided, PC users will have to wait on for their GTA 5.
