Google Nexus 6: LG Passes The Torch To HTC?

Both the Nexus 4 and 5 were created by LG and while all the fingers are pointing to the Korean phone manufacturer for the Nexus 6’s creation, a dark horse is emerging and it is known as HTC.

Amidst all the rumours and speculations, there is a chance that HTC will take the helm for the Nexus 6’s development instead of LG. The Taiwanese company was the first Google collaboration and it was a successful one.

That torch was then passed to Samsung which then created a name for itself with the Nexus. After two back to back release, LG took over and became the biggest Nexus success yet. With no other vendor left for Google to venture to, then they might just return to the original HTC.

On top of that, HTC is heavily rumoured to be the manufacturer of the upcoming high-end Nexus 8 tablet. This is expected to arrive later this year with many suggesting it to be in July.

As for the Nexus 6, it will look to carry on the October release pattern and is expected to run on the future Android 4.5 or even 5.0. If HTC is the creator of the Nexus 6, then there is no doubt that the device will be based on the recently released HTC One M8.

Of course, Google would want to improve on it and plant their stamp on it. After all, there has yet to be a Nexus smartphone that is disappointing. On another note, do take this with a pinch of salt as there has yet to be any confirmation. Expect that to happen late in June during Google I/O Conference.
