After the Google Nexus 5, it felt like everything started going downhill for Google and their fans. One of the reasons why the Google Nexus 5 was so popular was because it was powerful but also came with a reasonable price tag.
Even though Google continue to offer affordable with the Nexus 5x, the new device was far from what the Nexus 5 was. That is one of the reasons why so many people are still holding on to the Nexus 5 in hopes that Google would one day work on a budget friendly smartphone once more.
However, with Google announcing that the Nexus 5 will no longer get their software support, those that wants to try out the new Nougat OS will have no choice but to upgrade to a newer smartphone.
Luckily, they won’t have to depend solely on Google. If you are looking to keep the Nexus 5, there are more than enough custom ROMS out there to make sure you are up to date.
As for Google, they made it clear that the upcoming Pixel 2 will not come with an affordable option as well so don’t wait for it.
