However, the lock is apparently breakable if you are a Samsung Galaxy S3, S4, Note 2 and Note 3 users. The latest leak has surfaced on the internet and it actually revealed the unlock code for these devices.
With the smartphone unlocked, users can enjoy the freedom by trying out other carriers. Heck, they can even sell away their phone directly to a buyer without going through Samsung. There is also that feat which allows users to send their phones overseas.
To do so, simply refer to the following guide:
1. At the dial pad, key in *#197328640#.
2. This will prompt a message.
3. Go to your main menu > [1] UMTS > [1] Debug Screen > [8] Phone Control > [6] Network Lock > Options [3] Perso SHA256 OFF.
4. Select ‘back;’ after leaving the device idle for a minimum of a minute.
5. There will be the network lock prompt.
6. Choose [4] NW Lock NV Data INITIALLIZ.
The number sequence should be like this: Asterisk Pound One Nine Seven Three Two Eight Six Four Zero Pound
At the moment, it is unknown to how many Samsung devices can perform this backdoor tweak.. Now that the codes are here, the chains can finally be broken.
