Forget Nexus 10 2, The HTC Nexus 8 Is Here

It is also said that Molly could be in relation to a set top box which would run Android and the TV could have a GUI with the name of AndroidAtHome. It may also have a remote controller that goes by the name of Bemote.

This is the reference code that sparked the rumours off:

project device/google/molly/
e610c57 Set BT minor code to SET_TOP_BOX instead of HIFI.
project device/htc/flounder/

Evidence has also come to light of Google Molly being linked with DRM vendors and this was seen in a changelog file that leaked for the project Molly.

The references in the code point to Discretix, this is an Android DRM solution developer and a partner, who is said to be mirroring PlayReady functions on Android TV. There was also mention of Google Molly having support for WideVine DRM, which comes from a company that Google purchased back in 2010.

More references were found in the leaked Android 4.4.3 changelog that suggest that Molly comes with support for media streaming services through AndroidAtHome, such as for rating music, TV shows and movies, while at the same time being a gaming device that pairs with Bemote, which would be used as a Bluetooth controller.

In the changelog there is references to Bemote tutorials, support for NFC, pairing of Bemote controls and microphone. There was also support suggested for Gearhead and CarHomeGoogle, which falls in-line with plans that Google are porting car software to Android.

We have not heard many details about the Gearhead project, other that basic functionality, which will be the same as with any other car software.
