While Fallout 4 news has been flaky at best over the past few months, last week’s developments have brought some concrete information out.
If you’ve seen the Survivor 2299 website, you will notice that there is a countdown for 23 days – putting it smack on December 11 2013. The domain is of course owned by Zenimax and hence why the Fallout 4 suggestions. Bethesda also filed for trademark for the term Fallout 4 just five days ago.
Now of course if Bethesda wished to keep Fallout 4 a secret, they wouldn’t reveal the name of the game and instead just leave the countdown there to build up excitement. However a quick browse through the source code of the website immediately revealed a cascading stylesheet called fallout.css. Of course some people would say that this could be a clever hoax as what’s so difficult to name a stylesheet “Fallout”.
Well that isn’t the exact reason what got the internet excited, it was the fact that once this detail leaked and went viral over on Reddit, the style sheet name was changed to just a random sequence of numbers!
While this isn’t concrete evidence that Survivor 2299 is a countdown for the Fallout 4 release date, it sure as hell is shaping up to look just like that! Will Bethesda be able to keep the surprise for another 23 more days?
