French publisher Ubisoft kicked off their E3 media event by showcasing the first few minutes of Far Cry 4.
Many expected the game – which had been pegged as a sure bet for stage time – would be held until the end of the show, but Ubisoft spokeswoman Aisha Tyler explained, “at Ubisoft, we like to start big and get huge”.
As with the 2012 E3 footage for Far Cry 3, the trailer focused heavily on the magnetically evil antagonist, showing one of the game’s cinematic sequences rather than actual Gameplay.
The audience reaction – both in-house and among those tuning in by live stream – was enthusiastic, with many noting how well the writing and voice acting stacked up to the portrayal of Vaas: the villain from the first game.
It was definitely a great start to what has so far been the outstanding press event of the first day at E3, so keep your eyes tuned to this space for more Far Cry 4 news as it develops over the week.
