Well, it has just been reveal that the upcoming Square Enix game Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will come with microtransaction where players can buy in-game cash, experience points as well as crafting parts.
The fact is that we will be alright with all the microtransactions if the game can be completed even if we don’t buy anything in the game. Microtransaction starts to get annoying when you are asked to purchase all sorts of parts and items to continue the game and since you have already spent on buying the game, most people will just go with it and buy whatever the game ask them to.
The game can also start to get very annoying if they start reminding us to buy new stuff all the time. Some of the games in the past that have made the same mistake including Dragon Age: Origin where players were asked to buy a DLC when you want to accept a quest.
