Call of Duty is back with its latest title, COD: Ghosts. Activision and Infinity Ward is never wrong with this fast paced first-person shooter game as it constantly leave gamers impressed with its gameplay. Every Call of Duty release means a new storyline, new character upgrading system, new achievements and plenty of other new stuffs.
However there are 2 major flaws to the game that many are beginning to notice. It is not regarding the COD: Ghost title. It is more about the entire COD franchise. Ever since the release of Modern Warfare 2, things have gone into a decline for the COD franchise. While fighting the terrorist and saving the world for a good cause might sounds great, the storyline is getting shorter and much more ridiculous. There are very minor changes to the gameplay which makes every COD title very repetitive. It is getting much more boring as many players feels like they are playing the same things over and over again.
The first issue with the COD is the campaign. Let’s stop starting the story by running around and shooting bad guys and look for a new approach in developing the storyline. They are not that far off from doing so. Think about it. The Call of Duty 4 is probably the best title compared to all its successors. It is so original and dynamic with a rich storyline that gives players a more cinematic and challenging gameplay. Instead of going gung-ho and impersonating Rambo throughout the game, we hope the game developers can give it some more angle like offering tactical approach, Medal Of Honour Style. It will give more depth to the game.
Finally is the issue with the Multiplayer gameplay. This is getting more and more ridiculous with its poor killstreaks and unorganized gunplay. I’m sure some of you have shot an entire magazine of your Assault Rifle only to miss your target and wound up getting killed by a single shot from a pistol. This setback is de-moralizing and really caused many players to go irate. Killstreaks are great but since its super-weapons addition, it simply spoils the game. What is the point of playing when you spent a couple of minutes getting eaten by dogs are getting nuked non-stop. This is why COD4 is the best since their killstreaks only disrupt the opponent’s game once but not killing off their entire chance to compete.
With all that said, we are really concern on the direction of the COD franchise. We hope the game developers can hear out our cry and win back our hearts.
