Thanks to the help of Oman Air, we have seen the pre-production Lagonda, as the car was recently flown to Oman.
Oman was chosen due to hot weather testing purposes and the Lagonda is going to be sold as an exclusive in the Middle East to those who have been sent an invitation.
The car was designed by the Q special project division at Aston Martin. They brought us the One-77, the V12 Zagato and the CC100 Speedster. The Lagonda has been based around the VH platform architecture and it is this that underpins the Rapide saloon.
Aston Martin haven’t been forthcoming with details about the Lagonda, however it is though that it will have the Rapide S 5.9 litre V12 engine and deliver 552hp and 630Nm. This will take the car from 0 to 60mph in just 4.2 seconds. There will also be an 8 speed automatic turning the axle on the back.
The Aston Martin Lagonda was built in limited production and it was said that the first of the cars to arrive in the Middle East will be there next year.
