Black Friday Faux Pas: 3 Deals To Avoid

Black Friday is like the Christmas to every consumer. Prices on every product you can think of will go on promotions. When we talk about great deals, there is no better bargain than those offered on Black Friday. The best way to be prepared for this epic day is to start saving early on.

As great as Black Friday may sound, you might want to do a reality check before checking out at the cashier. Don’t get me wrong. I’m trying to ensure that the money you’ve been saving up for this day doesn’t go to waste on some Grade F product. Yes it is very cheap but why settle for something that will make you frown in a couple of months’ time? Read on to see the deals you should avoid.

1. Portable DVD player

Let’s be realistic. There is no longer any need for such a device in today’s world. Wake up already. Physical media is coming to extinction. These portable DVD player is definitely great if you are in the year 2004. Use your smartphone, tablet or laptop to watch your movies or series. Even if you have the entire season of How I Met Your Mother on DVD, it is still not worth the purchase. Keep your DVDs and watch it at home. If you were to purchase, I’ll give the device 6 month max before it begins to catch dust and see itself in the bin. Think of making purchase that will last for a long-term such as tablets which is also on promotions.

2. Free Snow Globe

Buy this and that and get yourself a Free Snow Globe! If you happen to come across this promotion, please avoid it at all cost. Don’t waste your time in looking for products that offers you a free snow globe with every purchase you’ve made. The promotion is not good enough. There is nothing beneficial with a snow globe. Even if you think about giving them to your kids, they will still desire for the Xbox One or PS4. The Snow Globe is only great for decorations but Christmas is not an all-yearlong event. So make the wise decision and skip this promotion.

3. The Laptop

You will eventually come across a sale on a new laptop that sells for as little as $177.99. Don’t be fooled. The Dell Inspiron 15.6” laptop is running on an outdated 1.6GHz Intel Celeron Processor, with a sluggish 320GB hard drive and a below par 720p screen which won’t give you full HD. Once again, make sure that every penny you spent on is worth it. This laptop sounds like a great deal but on a closer look, it has the poorest specifications. Think long-term. Would you like doing your work on a super slow device? And for those who already have a laptop that is working fine, there is no need for this one.

All in all, the deals are great. It needs a lot of exploring to find you a nice purchase. Most of the promotions are on poor un-sellable items. The only way for you to get the best out of Black Friday is to be a treasure hunter. Find the X and you’ll get your prize.
