Apple iPhone 7 Learns To Swim?

Apple became the centre of a buzz earlier today when the company was spotted patenting a waterproofing method that isn’t practice by other manufacturers in the industry.

In detail, the Cupertino-based company claims rights to coating major components inside a smartphone with hydrophobic materials. In addition to that, the hydrophobic substance comes with a thickness of up to ten microns. This means that it doesn’t affect the density of the iPhone’s interior.

While not much is revealed, this could see Apple finally picking up on the water-proofing trend and introduce it on the future Apple iPhone 7. With such a water-proofing layout, it is a wonder on whether there will be a need for any seals to be present on the iPhone’s exterior.

Of course, it is still too early to tell. There is still the chance for Apple to simply make patents without applying them on a product. As such, it is best to take this with a pinch of salt.
