Android 4.4 KitKat is all set and ready to reveal itself to the world in just a matter of hours when Google launches its Nexus 5 phone. We will finally get to know KitKat more personally and also see if the rumours fit the bill.
Android 4.4 KitKat is reported to be the answer to Android’s fragmentation issue. Over the years when Android updates are rolled out, it kind of ignores the low-end smartphone users. Google finally looked into the matter and assures Android users that this update is compatible for the low end market as well.
Google stated that the new update will optimize every memory available in a savvy manner thus being able to compensate for the lack of RAM in the cheaper and older devices.
It is no secret that Google is venturing into the wearable’s market. Handled by the company’s OEM partners, they are planning to create wearable devices since KitKat has solved the compatibility issue. Android 4.4 will support three new types of sensors namely the geomagnetic rotation vector, step detector and step counter. Google too has already released small information on its future wearables call the Google Gem which is likely to be released next year, and the existing Google Glass.
Android 4.4 KitKat will also attempt to initiate a virtual card usage instead of the physical cards using the NFC technology. Developers are given the green light to begin developing apps that replicate the physical card on the smartphone with all its functions intact. KitKat is also going to be a platform for developers to turn Android devices into universal remotes via Bluetooth technology.
The tech world is going to experience a technological revolution that will begin with the Android 4.4 itself. And for those who aren’t bothered with that, the good news is that older Android smartphones will be able to take the Android 4.4. update even if it won’t be officially.
