The Amazon Kindle Fire DX is not just a tablet. It is also built to enhance reading experience. Then there is the best-seller iPad Air which is an all-rounder device. Both tablets are great in their own way but which of them is the better choice to run ebooks?
In a rare comparison conducted by GoodeReader, it seems that both devices have it pros and cons. The DX in particular has a huge 9.7” screen that offers 1200x824p and is built with readers in mind. It features e Ink which prevents readers from straining their eyes when reading for long periods. The major setback is that the Kindle is not a touchscreen device. Users have to toggle their way manually.
Then there is the iPad Air which is an all-in-one tablet. The 2048×1536 resolution on its huge screen simply outdo the Kindle Fire DX. Reading gets easier as users can just pinch and zoom on the sentences. As a matter of fact, the text won’t be pixelated thanks to a great resolution. The iBooks application can even tweak the text to a font and size of your liking.
By far the iPad Air is much better than the Kindle Fire DX. However, there is a special kind of pleasure and satisfaction when running an eBook on the latter.
