Despite no clues whatsoever on the ending to the trilogy, Redditor ChaoticPride hints on it to be like Dream Drop Distance. DDD is a side story or filler that compliments the original arc. However, the fan pointed out that DDD will actually influence the plot on Kingdom Hearts 3.
[Spoiler] The ending in DDD shows Axel back in human form. On top of that, the lad is now a key-blade wielder. This came as a surprise as not many played DDD. On top of that, the fans are shocked that a major element in the Kingdom Hearts story was played in the filler instead of the main series.
It is unsure if Square Enix is aware of this. Perhaps, the game developer could add in a short flashback in the starting of Kingdom Hearts 3 that reveals this major information.
With this major piece of information being spilled to the masses, it is also best for the fans to pick up the DDD game in anticipation for Kingdom Hearts 3.
