The 2018 Toyota Supra is coming. BMW will be working with Toyota to build the next Toyota Supra and BMW Z5 and we can’t wait to see what they have come out with. What we would really like to know is if Mazda will have a rival for the Toyota Supra when it arrives.
The perfect rival would be the Mazda RX-9 and while Mazda has yet to confirm the Mazda RX-9, we know that Mazda is working on build a new rotary engine. If they succeed, chances are we will be seeing the RX-9 going after the Supra.
It is believed that the Mazda RX-9 will be fitted with a 1.6 liter SkyActive-R Wankel engine that will be delivering about. If it arrives, it will be going against the Toyota Supra which will be powered by a 3.0 liter twin-turbo V6 engine that will also be offering about 400hp.
If the vehicle does get a green light, we might be able to see the prototype at the Tokyo Auto Show next year.
