The Mazda CX-5 was never the fuel guzzler but it was not the most fuel efficient model in the market as well. Taking advantage of the lack of diesel-powered models here in the US, Mazda announces that they will be offering the Mazda CX-5 with a diesel engine.
Before the announcement was made, many people believe that Mazda was going to offer the Mazda CX-5 with the new Mazda CX-9 engine that they unveil not too long ago but it looks like instead of power, Mazda is more concern about the fuel efficiency of the vehicle.
The 2018 Mazda CX-5 will be running on the 2.2-liter diesel engine that will be offering about 148hp and 170hp. They will also be two other gasoline engine option. Besides getting an engine upgrade, the Mazda CX-5 will also come with an upgrade exterior design that matches what Mazda offered on the Mazda CX-9.
