One of the reasons why the Mazda CX-4 was not offered in the US could be because there wasn’t any space for the Mazda CX-4 in the market right now since it will be too close to the Mazda CX-3 and Mazda CX-5 that Mazda is offering right now but that will not be problem if the Mazda CX-5 gets a bigger price tag.
It is believed that Mazda is looking to upgrade the Mazda CX-5 so that it can be considered a premium model. If that is the case, the Mazda CX-5 could be coming in with a slightly bigger price tag and that could leave a big enough gap in between the Mazda CX-5 and Mazda CX-3 for the Mazda CX-4.
It is believed that the Mazda CX-5 will not only be getting a new design but it will also be getting the new engine that Mazda showed off when they release the Mazda CX-9 although Mazda has never confirmed it.
