There have long been rumors about the Chevrolet Corvette coming with a 6.2 liter V8 engine but GM has never confirmed it until now.
The engine was spotted in the documents of a GM service website. It was started that the 2018 Chevrolet Corvette will come with an engine with the code LT5. LT5 was the code for the last DOHC Corvette V8 engine.
The document also seems to suggest that the new LT5 is an all aluminum model with no forced induction. It has been speculated that this engine might be used to power the upcoming mid-engine Chevrolet Corvette.
Soon after people started picking up on this detail, GM sneakily removed the listing on its service website. It’s too late for GM to try and cover it up now. Of course, it could also be a mistake and GM is just trying to correct it but a lot of people seems to believe that this is the real deal.
