The Volkswagen Golf R was and still is one of the top hot hatches in the market but even with what it has to offer right now, the Volkswagen Golf R existence will not matter to the Ford Focus RS.

The 2017 Volkswagen Golf R will be powered by a 2.0 liter inline 4 engine that will be offering about 292hp and 280lb ft of torque. The engine will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission and will return about 22mpg in the city and 31mpg on the highway.

The Ford Focus RS will be running on a 2.3 liter inline 4 engine that will be offering about 350hp and 350lb ft of torque. The engine will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission.

The Golf R will come with standard features like stability control, dusk-sensing headlights and traction control while the Ford Focus RS will come with features like fog lights, cornering lights as well as DRL.
