We were all impressed with what Subaru had under the cover when they showed off the new Subaru 5 Door concept at the Tokyo Motor Show last year. Subaru did announce that the concept was going to be the base for the upcoming 2017 Subaru Impreza but we did not dare to hope.
We know how bad Subaru is at keeping their promise. We were all expecting the production model to come in looking totally different from the concept but that did not happen.
Although we still think that the concept design looked better, the production model did not stray too far from the concept and that alone is enough to keep us happy for now.
The Subaru Impreza will be running on a 2.0 liter flat four engine that will be delivering about 152hp. A slight boost from the 148hp that the previous model was offering.
