The MazdaSpeed 3 made a whole lot of sense in the past when it was all about the performance sedan but it is clear that people are slowly moving away from sedans and is instead looking for crossovers and SUV.
That is the reason why many believe that Mazda is looking to focus their effort on making the Mazda CX-5 into a premium model. However, some people are saying that Mazda will still be offering the MazdaSpeed 3 and MazdaSpeed 6 in the near future.
As much as we would like to see it happen, it does not make sense for Mazda to focus on the Mazda 3 and Mazda 6 now especially since the sales for both these sedans have been dropping. Having the performance version might grab the attention of the consumers for a short period of time but ultimately, it will not be what the consumers are asking for right now.
