In the past when Mazda was all about offering an affordable vehicle that is also fun to drive in, the MazdaSpeed 3 and MazdaSpeed 6 made sense but that is not what Mazda wants right now.
It is clear that Mazda now wants to be recognized as an automaker that offers premium models with an affordable price and that is clearly not what the MazdaSpeed models are about. Maybe it is time to put these models behind us and move forward?
There have been speculations that Mazda was going to bring back the MazdaSpeed 3 and MazdaSpeed 6 ever since the Mazda 3 and Mazda 6 were given an upgrade but Mazda has made it clear that the performance model is not in their plans right now.
