Mazda definitely surprised us all when they announce that the US version of the Mazda CX-5 is going to come with a Diesel engine option. While most automakers are trying to keep their diesel powered models out of the US market, Mazda seems to be very confident this the diesel-powered Mazda CX-5 will work for them.
The 2017 Mazda CX-5 diesel model will be powered by a 2.2-liter SkyActiv-D engine along with a few other gasoline engine option as well. While the diesel engine does sound attractive, some consumers are saying that they will only consider it if the Mazda CX-5 comes with a stick transmission.
At this point, we still do not know all the details about the Mazda CX-5 and we will have to wait a little longer to find out but will the missing stick transmission affect your final decision when the time comes?
